Eleanor Delores Dahlberg
Eleanor Delores Dahlberg, age 77, of Howard Lake, passed away Aug. 19, 2001, while staying at her daughter's home following a brief illness.
Eleanor was born Feb. 4, 1924, the daughter of Peder and Christina (Ouren) Pederson. She was baptized at St. Luke's Lutheran Church by the Rev. G. O. Wangberg and confirmed in her faith June 16, 1940, at the same church.
Eleanor married James Dahlberg at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Brownton, Oct. 24, 1953. This union was blessed with the birth of two children.
Making their home in Howard Lake, they joined St. James Lutheran Church and Eleanor became a member of the American Legion Post 145 Auxiliary.
Eleanor had various hobbies and a love for animals. She was an avid garage sale shopper, woodworker, and did needlework. Knitting, crocheting, and tatting were among her talents.
Christmas time was always a joy for her to decorate the house. She enjoyed family get-togethers, playing pinochle, and going to the cabin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peder and Christina Pederson; husband, James Dahlberg; three brothers, Palmer, Carliss, and Henry; two sisters, Marcella Donnely and Olga Vlnar.
Eleanor is survived by her two children, daughter, Ranae Dahlberg of Chanhassen and son, Richie ((Deborah) Dahlberg of Dillingham, Ala.; two grandsons, Clinton and Charles Dahlberg; two brothers, Arnold Pederson of St. Paul and Bernie Pederson of Walker; two sisters, Adora Olson of Franklin and Gladys Peterson of Cokato; nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services took place Aug. 22, 2001, at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, with the Rev. Martin Schoenfeld officiating.
The organist was Nancy Blair, niece, with special music by soloists Marge Stueven and Robert Have, friend of the family.
Internment was at the St. James Cemetery on Dutch Lake.
Pallbearers were her nephews, Vance Vlnar, Dennis Vlnar, Warren Peterson, David Pederson, Jason Pederson, Douglas Olson and Wayne Olson.
Arrangements were made by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake.
