Doris Ella Dalbec
Doris Ella Dalbec, age 83, of Cokato, passed away Dec. 5, 2001, at Cokato Manor, Cokato.
Doris Ella Dalbec was born Feb. 27, 1918 at Annandale, the daughter of Arthur and Selma (nee: Melinsky) Uecker. She was baptized at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Middleville Township by the Rev. Alfred Struefert and confirmed in her faith at that same church March 20, 1932 by the Rev. W. D. Kanning.
She was united in marriage to Hubert Dalbec in Buffalo June 18, 1941. This union was blessed with the births of eight children. She loved her family and enjoyed sewing, gardening, and canning.
Following a brief illness while a resident of the Cokato Manor, Doris was called to her eternal rest at the age of 83 years, nine months and eight days.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Selma Uecker; stepfather, Gustav Boltz, infant son, Larry; three brothers, Arnold Uecker, Ralph Boltz, Elmer Boltz; and one sister, Mildred Bobrowske.
She is survived by her husband, Hubert; two sons, Douglas (Margaret) Dalbec and James (Sharon) Dalbec; four daughters, Margie (Jerry) Moxley, LuAnn Tremblay, Nancy White, Debbie (Ron) Kassulker and Vicki (Larry) Witschen; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
Arrangements were made by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake.
Visitation was Friday, Dec. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake, and also one hour before the funeral service.
A prayer service took place Friday, Dec. 7, at 8 p.m.
Funeral services were Dec. 8, 2001 at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake with the Rev. Michael Nirva and the Rev. Martin Schoenfeld officiating.
The soloist was Marge Stueven, with Nancy Butterfass serving as the organist. Interment was at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery, Middleville Township.
Pallbearers were Larry Dalbec, Ronnie Dalbec, Duane Dalbec, Matthew Dalbec, Todd Moxley, Joel Moxley, Michael Tremblay, Adam Tremblay, Mark Steffens, and Nick Witschen.
