Clara Emma Debner
Clara Debner, age 90, of Cokato and formerly of Hutchinson, passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, at Cokato Manor in Cokato.
Clara Emma (Moenke) Debner was born May 15, 1911, in Winsted. She was the daughter of Herman and Elvira (Breyer) Moenke.
She was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith April 5, 1925 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in rural Lester Prairie. She attended country school.
Clara Moenke was united in marriage to Fred Debner April 14, 1929, in Bergen Township. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Naomi, Narda, Donna, and Fred, Jr.
Clara lived most of her life on a farm near Winsted, before moving to Hutchinson in 1990. She enjoyed taking care of her family as a homemaker, and also enjoyed sewing at the Edco in Winsted.
Fred and Clara shared 53 years of marriage together, before Fred passed away in 1982.
Clara was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Hutchinson. She enjoyed sewing, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and she had a great sense of humor.
When Clara needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident of Cokato Manor in Dec., 2000. She passed away there at the age of 90 years. Blessed be her memory.
Clara is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Elvira Moenke; husband, Fred Debner; son, Fred G. Debner, Jr.; brothers, Oscar Moenke, Wilbert Moenke, and Waldemar Moenke; and sister, Martha Oslund.
Clara is survived by her daughters, Naomi (Gary) Meier of Hutchinson, Narda (Al) Sprague of Bemidji, Donna (Harold) Milne of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Shay (Chad) Cates of Dassel, Shawn Meier of Bozeman, Mont., Holli (Greg) Pick of Duluth, Greg (Carla) Milne of Golden, Colo., Sandra (Troy) Hailpern of Phoenix, Ariz.; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Meaghan, and Cody Milne, Michael Veltrie (Hailpern), Paige and Mackenzie (Meier) Cates, Ashton and Cody Cates.
She is further survived by sisters, Hildegard (Claude) Price of Minneapolis, Helma Kuhlman of Lester Prairie, Stella Boetcher of Lester Prairie; sister-in-law, Lillian Moenke of Minneapolis; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were conducted Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, at 1 p.m., at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel, Hutchinson, with interment in Winsted Public Cemetery, Winsted. The Rev. Gerhard Bode officiated.
Organist was Paul Otte. Congregational hymns were "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" and "Abide With Me."
Mark Klaustermeier, Chad Cates, Greg Milne, Greg Pick, Troy Hailpern, and Shawn Meier served as casket bearers.
Arrangements were made by Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel.
