Delores Mathilda Dehnbostel
Delores Mathilda Dehnbostel, age 77, Howard Lake, passed away Dec. 27, 2001, while a resident of the Marantha Care Center, Brooklyn Center.
Delores was born Feb. 4, 1924, in Clements, Minn., the daughter of Walter and Mathilda (nee Reetz) Hermerding.
She was baptized March 9, 1924, by the Rev. Karl Rudolph at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Clements, and confirmed in her faith at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, April 10, 1938, by the Rev. C. G. Seltz.
She was united in marriage to Walter Dehnbostel at St. James Church by the Rev. Theo. Melinat June 8, 1946. This union was blessed with the births of three children.
Delores and Walter made their home and living on a farm southeast of Howard Lake. Delores enjoyed embroidering and quilting, and used her talents as a member of the Rebecca Guild, St. James Church. She was also a member of the LWML and church choir.
Delores was called to her eternal rest at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 23 days.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mathilda Hermerding; husband, Walter Dehnbostel; son, Gary; and a brother, Donald Hermerding.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Chapman; son, Jim Dehnbostel; daughter-in-law, Laura Dehnbostel; four grandchildren, Chris Chapman and wife Jennie, Mary Beauto, Candace Dehnbostel and Sandra Dehnbostel; two great-grandchildren, Katie Beauto and Christian Beauto;
She is further survived by three brothers, Lee Hermerding and wife Jan, John Hermerding and wife Mabel, Walter Hermerding and wife Carolyn; one sister, Darlene Dammann and husband Donald; four sisters-in-law, Esther Lorentz, Edna Butterfass, Eva Glessing, and Phyllis Hermerding; nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Jan. 2, 2002, at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, with the Rev. Michael Nirva and the Rev. Martin Schoenfeld officiating.
The organist was Nancy Butterfass, with special music by the LWML choir. Interment was at the Howard Lake Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dennis Butterfass, Wally Krienke, Allen Glessing, Bob Schendel, Chris Chapman and Mary Beauto. Honorary pallbearers were Candace Dehnbostel and Sandra Dehnbostel.
Arrangements were made by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake.
