Ruth “Eileen” Friauf
Ruth “Eileen” Friauf, age 85, of Hutchinson, passed away Sept.
5, 2001, at Burns Manor.
Eileen was born Dec. 27, 1915, to Thomas and Nellie Baker, on a farm
near Ellsworth, Minn. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1933.
Eileen was united in marriage to George Friauf in 1942. Their marriage
was blessed with a daughter, Charlene Marie.
Eileen worked at Tonka Toys in Mound. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting,
and traveling to North Carolina and California. She was a member of the
Faith Presbyterian Church in Silver Lake where she was involved in the Presbyterian
Women, and treasurer at the church supper.
She also attended the Methodist Church in Litchfield.
In addition, Eileen liked to keep up with current events.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; daughter,
Charlene Marie Friauf Henke; and brothers, Milton and Thomas Baker.
She is survived by her sister, Charmion Nelson of Forest Ranch, Calif;
son-in-law, Gerald M. Henke and wife Kathe of North Carolina; grandchildren,
Todd and Susan Henke, Cheryl and Wayne Council, all of North Carolina, and
Jodi and John Eggert of Howard Lake; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Mahala
Henke, Ashley and C. James Council, and Matthew and Julie Eggert; many nieces
and nephews.
Funeral services for Ruth “Eileen” Friauf were Friday, Sept.
7, 2001, 2 p.m., at Faith Presbyterian Church, Silver Lake. The Rev. Deanna
Reikow officiated.
Barb Wawrzyniak served at organist, and Joe Baker was soloist at the
service.
Larry Baker, Milton Baker, Douglas Baker, David Henke, Gerhard Bahr,
and Marle Eggersgluess served as casketbearers.
Interment was at the Bohemian National Cemetery, Rich Valley Township.
Arrangements were made by Maresh Funeral Home, Silver Lake.
