Harriet F. Hass
Harriet F. Hass, age 76, of Howard Lake and formerly of Waverly, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2001 at Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia.
She was born August 13, 1924 in Howard Lake, the daughter of Harry and Emma Kanehl Borg.
Harriet was baptized at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake September 13, 1924. She was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism, and confirmed in the Christian faith at St. James Lutheran Church December 22, 1940.
Harriet F. Borg was joined in holy marriage to Leonard O. Hass October 21, 1943, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waverly. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Harvey and Susan.
Harriet worked at Tonka Toys in Mound for 24 and a half years, and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waverly.
Harriet is survived by a son, Harvey (Sandy) Hass of Columbia Heights; a daughter, Sue (Ed) Claessen of Waverly; three grandchildren, Craig Hass, Michelle Hass, and Dan Claessen; a brother, Ellsworth (Elsie) Borg of Waverly; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George (Maxine) Hass of Racine, Wis.; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Harriet is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Hass in 1985; her father in 1924, and mother in 1970; a brother, Howard H. Borg; sister-in-law, Martha L. Borg; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Joe and Vera Hass.
Funeral services for Harriet Hass were Thursday, June 14, 7 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted. The Rev. Robert Wiley officiated at the funeral service.
Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, Thursday, June 14 from 4-7 p.m.
"How Great Thou Art," "Amazing Grace - How Sweet the Sound," and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" were played as organ solos.
The Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, served the family.
