Dorothy Marie Hayden
Dorothy Marie Hayden, age 84 of Cokato and formerly of Howard Lake, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, in Waconia.
Dorothy was born July 1, 1916, in Minneapolis, to Fredric and Dorothy (O'Leary) Luedeman. She was baptized and confirmed at Holy Rosary Church in south Minneapolis.
Dorothy attended Holy Rosary School and graduated from South High School with the class of 1934.
In 1942, Dorothy was married to Richard Hayden at Holy Rosary Church. Richard was a teacher, and over the course of their marriage, they lived in Edgerton, Dassel, and Howard Lake. For the last two years, they have resided at Edgewood Gables, Cokato.
Dorothy enjoyed cooking and sewing.
At the time of her death, Dorothy had reached the age of 84 years, seven months, and 16 days.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard; daughters, Catherine, Mary, Susan, Patricia, Jeanne (Dave) Penney, and Barbara (John) Mahal; a son, Tom (Jan) Hayden; 10 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter, Grace.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant son, Richard.
Funeral services were Thursday, Feb. 22, 11 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted, with the Rev. Paul Wolf officiating. Music was by Lavon Kielkucki. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Casket bearers were Milton Jensen, John Mahal, Sr.; David Penney, Sidney Stenberg, John Mahal, Jr.; and Joseph Penney.
Arrangements were by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home, Inc., Cokato and Howard Lake.
