Ruth C. Heitz
Ruth C. (Ess) Heitz, age 91, of St. Bonifacius, passed
away Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia.
Ruth was born July 17, 1910, the daughter of Michael and
Mary (Koehnen) Ess in Carver County, Minn. She was baptized and confirmed
at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska.
She married Clemence J. Heitz April 26, 1932 at Guardian
Angels Catholic Church, with the Rev. Bernice officiating.
Ruth enjoyed her family, including her children, grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild. She also enjoyed quilting,
fishing, and working with her flowers.
She was a member of the Waconia Daughters of Isabella,
and she worked at Tonka Toys for many years.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Clemence; great-grandchildren,
Kyle Glaeser and Kyle Gerard; parents, Michael and Mary Ess; sisters, Loretta
Pauly and Margaret Heitz; brother, Erwin (Mickey) Ess.
Ruth is survived by her children and spouses, Roy and Shirley
Heitz of Waconia, Dale and Joan Heitz of St. Bonifacius, Duane and Jane
Heitz of Miltona, Jeanette and Jerold Boley of Victoria, James and Shari
Heitz of Shakopee, Kenneth and Cindy Heitz of St. Paul Park, Norbert and
Judy Heitz of St. Bonifacius, Joyce and Douglas Johnson of Waconia; 34 grandchildren,
61 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She is further survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law,
Arthur and Cecelia Heitz of Maple Plain, Alfred Heitz of Mound, Roman and
Cecelia Ebert of St. Bonifacius, Leona Schmidt of Minnetonka, Florence Stein
of Mound, Theresa Reus of Victoria, Nora Theis of Prior Lake, Marie Heitz
of Maple Plain; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002,
at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. James T. Livingston
officiating.
Interment was at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
Mike Heitz, Chuck Heitz, Mark Heitz, Jerry Boley, Tony
Heitz, Greg Heitz, Matt Heitz, and Ryan Johnson served as casket bearers.
Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia, served the family.
