Ruth R. Hilk
Ruth R. Hilk, age 81, of Waconia, died at her home in Waconia Friday, June 29, 2001.
Ruth was born Aug. 26, 1919, at Watertown Township, Carver County, the daughter of Albert T. and Bertha C. (Vollrath) Luebke.
She was baptized Sept. 14, 1919 and confirmed June 25, 1938 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia, by the Rev. William Schneider.
Ruth was united in marriage to Arthur T. Hilk June 25, 1938 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia, by the Rev. Schneider.
Ruth loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was also a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and enjoyed being a member of the ladies aid, the Lutheran Womens Missionary League, and Seniors for Christ.
She liked flowers, quilting, and embroidering as a pasttime, and also enjoyed watching wildlife and playing cards with her neighbors.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur T. Hilk; grandson, Jason Bannister; parents, Albert and Bertha Luebke; sisters, Mildred Krause, Maeola Groenke, and Emma Hilk; and brother, Martin Luebke, Sr.
Ruth is survived by her children and spouses, Rosewitha and Fred Seltz of Hutchinson, Arnold and Katherine Hilk of Minnetrista, Elaine and Jerry Bannister of Waconia, and Delmer and Linda Hilk of Watertown; grandchildren, Kristin and Tom, Jonathan, Martin and Tara, Andrea, Amber and Dan, Heather, Jennifer and Mike, Cory and Jennifer, and Melissa and Lee; 10 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Ester and Erwin Goethke of Waconia; brother-in-law, Carl Krause of Waconia; sister-in-law, Violet Luebke of Waconia; special friends, Evie and Gene Zimmerman of Waconia; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 2, 2001, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Peter Peitsch and the Rev. James Wilk officiating.
Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Waconia.
Ruth's grandchildren served as casketbearers, with the Seniors for Christ serving as honorary casketbearers.
