Doris V. Holmquist
Doris V. Holmquist, age 75 of Howard Lake, and formerly of Willmar, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at her home after a long illness.
Doris was born Oct.. 29, 1925, to Samuel and Molly (Reffensparger) Martin in Swanville, Minn.
On May 12, 1941, Doris married Louis Gray. From that union, two daughters were born.
On June 30, 1952, Doris married Richard Johnson. From that union, two daughters and one son were born.
On March 16, 1991, Doris married Glenn Holmquist.
Doris was employed by IBM in Minneapolis for a number of years. While living in Willmar, she was employed by Willmar Poultry.
Doris had a love for gardening, sewing, and reading.
Survivors include her husband Glenn: daughters, Betty (Keith) Sorenson of Willmar, Gloria Gray of Atwater, Colleen (Ronald) Danielson of New Hope, and Cynthia Johnson of Howard Lake; a son, Gregory (Wendy) Johnson of Cokato; grandchildren: Keith, Kevin, Kenny, Danette, Joseph, Harley, Andrea, Brent, Nathan, Brandon, Jeremy, and Daniel; and great-grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas, Alayne, Holly, Taylor, and Gracie.
She is further survived by a brother, Clifford (Lucille) Martin of Minneapolis; sisters, Ethel (Theodore) Johnson of Willmar, and Vida Kopacek of Olivia.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Claude, Cecil, Harold, and Ernest Martin; and sisters, Thelma Kadlec and Gladys Dreckman.
Arrangements were by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home, Inc., Howard Lake.
