Inga Judd, age 66, of rural Howard Lake, died Saturday, Oct. 6 at North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale.
Inga was born in Brainerd, June 25, 1935 to Gustaf and Myrtle Parsons. Inga was diagnosed as a diabetic at age 12.
Her school years were spent in Pillager, Minn., where she graduated from high school in 1953. She enjoyed cheerleading, horse back riding, and was very involved with her family.
After high school, she attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis and later, Macalester College, St. Paul.
Inga married Grant Judd of Howard Lake Aug. 10, 1957, at First Lutheran Church, Brainerd. They resided in St. Paul and Fridley for a number of years, and had two children, David and Daniel.
In 1970, the family moved to Howard Lake, where Grant had a home construction business. In 1975, Inga completed her college education at St. Cloud State.
She then began her teaching career, which continued until her retirement in June, 2000. She had specialized in Early Childhood Education.
Inga had a lifelong love of music. She taught individual piano lessons, directed children's and adult choirs, performed vocal and piano music, and taught music in the kindergarten and preschool classroom at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted schools.
Her hobbies included golfing, cooking, gardening, reading, shopping, and the sewing club.
Inga was very active with the church throughout her life. She served on worship committees, was Sunday School superintendent, a member of the church board, adult and children choir director, and also served as a deacon.
Inga was preceded in death by her father, Gustaf Parsons; mother Myrtle Parsons; nephews, Michael and Joel Parsons; and father-in-law, Gordon Judd
Survivors include her husband, Grant; brother, David and wife Betty of Proctor, Minn; sons, David and wife Janis of Shakopee and Daniel and wife Erin of Howard Lake; three grandchildren, Andrew, Elizabeth, and Benjamin; mother-in-law, Stella Judd of Howard Lake, and numerous other relatives.
A celebration of her life service took place at St. John's Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, with the Rev. Joel Swedberg presiding. Garrit Willem Lamain served as organist.
The Swanson Peterson Funeral Home served the family.
