Bertha Selma Kallenbach
Bertha Selma Kallenbach, 96, formerly of Howard Lake and Minneapolis, died on June 24, 2001 at the St. Mary Care Center, Winsted.
Bertha was born August 3, 1904 in Victor Township, Howard Lake, the daughter of Theodore and Amelia (Deidrick) Kallenbach.
She was baptized on Dec. 31, 1916, at the Presbyterian Church of Winsted by the Rev. Joseph E. Raukin.
Bertha enjoyed entertaining and decorating for every holiday of the year. She had a special love for flower arranging and cooking, keeping her special recipes a secret.
She entered the Texas Terrace Care Center, St Louis Park, in September 1984, and transferred to St. Mary's Care Center, Winsted 1992.
Preceding Bertha in death were her parents, Theodore and Amelia Kallenbach; sisters, Katherine Horsch, Anna Kallenbach, Amelia Neumann, and an infant sister; and one brother, Fred Kallenbach.
Bertha is survived by nephews and nieces, Marvin (Marietta) Neumann, Marcella Castro-Laughlin, Dorothy (Earland) Latzig, Shirley Quast, Roger (Carol) Kallenbach, Dorothy Schmidt, and Mary Ann Neumann; along with other friends and relatives.
Funeral services were conducted June 30, 2001, at the St. Mary's Care Center, with the Rev. Deanna Reikow officiating.
The organist was Vickie Berg, and the soloist was Kathy Hendrickson. Internment followed at the Winsted Cemetery.
Arrangements were by the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted.
