Felix Walter Kegler
Felix Walter Kegler, age 80, of Park Rapids, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Park Rapids.
Felix was born Oct. 24, 1920 in Lester Prairie to Bernard and Laura (Bugman) Kegler. He grew up near Lester Prairie on the family farm and attended the local country school.
He married Agnes Schultz Sept. 7, 1942, in Silver Lake. They operated a dairy farm near Lester Prairie.
Felix was also in the field tilling business for a number of years. Upon retirement in 1992, they moved to Wilmar, and in 1995, they moved to Park Rapids.
Felix was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and a former member of Holy Trinity Church, Winsted. He was still a member of the Holy Trinity Foresters group.
Felix was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and one brother, Andrew.
He is survived by four children, Roger (Avis) of Brainerd, Jerome (Jeanette) of Lester Prairie, Marlys (Ron) Ernhard of Park Rapids, and Joyce of Park Rapids; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, 11 a.m., at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Park Rapids, with the Rev. Dennis Wieland officiating.
Helen Fisher served as organist, and Annette Haas was the song leader.
Casketbearers were family and friends of Felix.
Interment will be conducted at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Winsted, Monday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m.
A luncheon was hosted by the ladies of St. Peter's Catholic Church following the funeral service.
