Victor Carl Koch
Victor Carl Koch, age 82, of Waconia, passed away Friday, Aug. 17, 2001.
Victor was born March 12, 1919 to Albert and Anna (Panning) Koch in Benton Township. He was brought to the Lord in Holy Baptism May 12, 1919, and was later confirmed in faith April 9, 1933, by the Rev. Herman Ament.
Victor married Dorothy Wisneski Nov. 28, 1940, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia. The Rev. William Schneider officiated.
Victor developed many skills in his lifetime, beginning with his education and graduation from Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis.
He had several jobs, including plowing snow, harvesting ice, repairing farm equipment, driving milk truck, working at and eventually owning Koch Implement, and Koch Bus Service, Inc., and most recently, helping out his family and friends with their "projects."
Victor served on the Board of Trustees and the Building Committee at Trinity.
He was also an EMV contact person for many years. Victor also served as the civil defense director in Waconia, and was happy to help his friends and family with anything they needed help with. In addition, he volunteered to drive the Trinity Church bus for 30 years.
Victor dearly loved his grandchildren, and in their younger years, enjoyed teaching them to drive on the country roads and then, stopping at the Dairy Queen.
He also enjoyed Sunday dinners out. In his later years, Victor was happy to belong to his card clubs.
Victor was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; son, Curtis Koch; his parents, Albert and Anna Koch; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Katherine Wisneski; four brothers, Walter, Clarence, Vernon, and Clinton Koch; three sisters, Dorothea Beckefeld, Roma Munkelwitz, and Alice Gay; and other relatives.
Victor is survived by son and daughters-in-law, Ken and Ruth Koch of Waconia, Judy Koch of Waconia; grandchildren, Brian and Michelle Koch of Waconia, Brenda and Mark Wittrock of Marshall, Bradley Koch of Chaska, Melissa and Larry Wickenhauser of Cologne, Angela and Jeremy Solomon of New Hope, and Kenneth (K. C.) Koch of Waconia; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jalen Wittrock, Samuel, Klara, and Lucy Koch, and Jacob Wickenhauser; special friend, Edna Poppitz of Chaska; sisters and brother-in-law, Vera Schaefer of Osseo, Esther and Lloyd Butterfass of Waverly; sisters-in-law, Sidora Koch of Winsted, Marietta Koch of Winsted, Loretta Koch of Emily; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia, with the Rev. Dean Mahlum and the Rev. Peter Peitsch officiating.
Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Waconia.
Grandchildren, Brian and Michelle Koch, Brenda and Mark Wittrock, Bradley Koch, Melissa and Larry Wiskenhauser, Angela and Jeremy Solomon, and K. C. Koch served as casketbearers.
Arrangements were made by Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia.
