Florence A. Koehler
Funeral services were Saturday, March 31, for Florence
A. Koehler, age 94 of Waconia, who died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Elim
Nursing Home, Watertown.
Florence was born May 19, 1906, in New Germany, the daughter
of August and Augusta (Suenram) Mielke. She was baptized July 1, 1906, at
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Crow River, and confirmed March 28, 1920, at
St. Mark Lutheran Church, New Germany, by the Rev. Theodore Rolf.
On May 26, 1925, Florence married Henry C. Thaemert at
St. Mark Lutheran Church, New Germany, by the Rev. Theodore Rolf. Henry
died March 31, 1951.
On May 26, 1962, Florence married Henry R. Koehler at St.
John’s Lutheran Church, Chaska, by the Rev. Krohn. Henry died June 10, 1990.
In addition to her husbands, Florence was preceded in death
by a son, Harold Thaemert; son-in-law, Harry Rolf; grandson, Craig Hoof;
great-granddaughter, Holly Vinkemeier; parents, August and Augusta Mielke;
and 12 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Lorraine
and Edward Vinkemeier of Buffalo, Irene Rolf of Cologne, and Joyce and Hilbert
Hoof of LaCrosse, Wis.; daughter-in-law and husband, Marian and Richard
Mielke of New Germany, step-children and spouses, Orville and Elda Koehler
of Mound, and Evangeline and Chester Ortloff of Watertown; and grandchildren:
Gary and Colleen Vinkemeier, Harlan and Nina Vinkemeier, Eddie and Kathy
Vinkemeier, Gene Vinkemeier and special friend, Shelly; Dean and Patricia
Vinkemeier, Jeff and Bev Rolf, Janic and Chris Burkhart, Tim and Allyson
Hoof, Joy and David Koller, Jon Hoof, Betty and Wayne Wachholz, Karen and
Mike Buckentin, Darlene Weber, Wayne and Cindy Thaemert, Janice and Craig
Neiland, Nancy and Wayne Schuft, and Joyce and Ron Thuening.
She is further survived by 38 great-grandchildren, nine
great-great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, Sharon, Wanda, and Tim; brothers-in-law
and sisters-in-law, Carl Thaemert of Cologne, Dorothy Wildung of Waconia,
Bertha Noll of Carver, Beatrice Thaemert of Carver, Eleanor Thaemert of
Carver, and Earl and Lois Lemke of Cologne; nieces, nephews, and other relatives
and friends.
The Rev. Jeff Harter officiated at the 11 a.m. funeral
services at Zion Lutheran Church, Mayer. Interment was at Mt. Hope Cemetery,
Carver.
Casket bearers were Jeff Rolf, Janice Burkhart, Jon Hoof,
Joy Koller, Harlan Vinkemeier, Eddie Vinkemeier, Wayne Thaemert, and Betty
Wachholz.
Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia.
