Allen William Walter Latzig
Allen William Walter Latzig, age 76, of rural Howard Lake died suddenly at the Buffalo Hospital Thursday, June 14, 2001.
Allen was born August 4, 1924, the son of Otto and Ella Schuette Latzig, in Camden Township, Carver County.
He was baptized August 31, 1924, and was instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith April 10, 1938, in New Germany at the St. Mark's Lutheran church.
Allen Latzig and Cordella Karels were joined in holy marriage May 21, 1942, in Estherville, Iowa. Cordella Latzig passed away April 26, 2001.
Allen was a long time foreman at Goebel Fixture Company, Hutchinson, and retired following 27 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping.
In addition to his wife, Allen was preceded in death by infant sons DuWayne and Gayle, his parents, and sister, Eldoris Latzig.
Allen is survived by his sons, Gene (Sharon) Latzig and Jerroll (Laura) Latzig, all of Howard Lake; grandchildren, Robert Latzig, Troy (Tammy) Latzig, Heather (Jeff) Latzig Zvorak, Briana (Chris) Jacobs, and Angela (Nathan) Krummel; four great-grandchildren, Tabatha and Brandon Latzig, Wyatt Jacobs, and Christopher Latzig; brothers, Marvin (Lila) Latzig of Hutchinson, Erland (Dorothy) Latzig of Winsted, and Virgil (Ruth) Latzig of Lester Prairie; sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Viola (Charles) Ohm of Litchfield, and Deloris Karels of Lester Prairie; nieces, nephew, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Allen Latzig were Monday, June 18, at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. The Rev. Dan Castle officiated at the funeral service, and interment followed at the Highland Lutheran Cemetery.
"Abide with Me" and "Just As I Am, Without One Plea" were sung as congregational hymns.
Pallbearers were Robert Latzig, Troy Latzig, Lowell Latzig, Jeff Zvorak, Chris Jacobs, and Nathan Krummel.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.
