Joseph Harry Lewandowski
Joseph Harry Lewandowski, age 71 of Silver Lake, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at his home.
Joseph was born Oct. 5, 1929, to Edward and Emily (Pawlicki) Lewandowski in Hale Township, McLeod County, Minn. He spent his youth on the farm and attended District 25 Country School.
Joe served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954, and was in the Korean Conflict. He then became a member of the Silver Lake American Legion.
He spent his life farming the family farm, and was still planning on farming this spring.
Joe enjoyed going out to eat, going to casinos, and visiting with family and friends. He also faithfully visited his mother in the nursing home.
A lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Silver Lake, Joe attended Mass faithfully.
He is survived by his mother, Emily, of St. Mary's Care Center, many cousins, and other friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward A. Lewandowski.
Funeral services were Thursday, March 1, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Silver Lake, with the Rev. Robert Mraz officiating. Organist was Val Shamla and the Holy Family adult choir.
Casket bearers were Ron Mickolichek, Gordon Pawlicki, Ken Juncewski, Mike Yurek, Larry Ardolf, and John Lewandowski.
Silver Lake American Legion Post 141 conducted military graveside services.
Interment was at St. Adalbert Cemetery, Silver Lake.
The Maresh Funeral Home, Silver Lake, handled the arrangements.
