Marvin F. Lindenberg
Marvin F. Lindenberg, age 86, of rural Howard Lake passed away peacefully Oct. 23, 2001, at the Buffalo Hospital.
He was born Nov. 3, 1914, in Waconia the son of William and Alma Schultz Lindenberg.
Marvin Lindenberg was joined in holy marriage to Isabelle Remer at the Rectory of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted, Nov. 22, 1937. God blessed their marriage with six children, and they happily shared 63 years together.
Marvin and Isabelle farmed near Howard Lake until they retired in 1982.
Marvin loved to fish, hunt, and spend time with his family.
Marvin was preceded in death by his son, Linus "Butch" Lindenberg Aug. 2, 1956; his parents; two infant grandchildren, Nichole and Michelle; two sisters, Adeline Koch and Dorothy Shrode; and by a son-in-law, Alvin "Sonny" Schroeder.
Marvin will be deeply missed by his family, many relatives and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Isabelle Lindenberg; children, Janette (Gordon) Bratvold of Montrose, Delores (Gerald) Anderson of Maple Grove, Carol (Sonny) Jewett of Waverly, Diane (Leonard) Grangroth and Mary (Lyle) Hirsch, all of Howard Lake; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
He is further survived by three brothers, Ed Lindenberg of Delano, William "Bud" Lindenberg, and Gilbert "Gib" Lindenberg, both of Excelsior; two sisters, Lucille Stender of Waconia and Marge Stender of Delano; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marion Shrode of Lester Prairie, Eleanor (Otto) Birkholtz of Waverly, Gertrude (Edward) Lyrek, Sr., of Montrose, Margaret Huhn of Litchfield, Rose Ann (John) Moore of Edina, Aggie (Ray) Yurek of Silver Lake, Marcy (Leon) Wickenhauser of Cologne, Walter Remer of Waverly, and Eileen (Homer) Berrum of Montana; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Marvin Lindenberg was Friday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Mary in Waverly. The Rev. Robert Wiley was the celebrant, and interment followed at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends called Thursday, Oct. 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted. A prayer service was conducted at 7 p.m.
Phyllis Hinseth provided special music for the Mass.
Brian Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Keith Schirmers, Andy Hirsch, Chad Hirsch, and Dale Schroeder served as casket bearers.
Michelle Grangroth, April Grangroth, Angela Hirsch, Katie Hirsch, and Debra Anderson served as honorary casket bearers.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
