Allan F. Luetke
Allan F. Luetke, age 90, of Waconia, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia.
Allan was born Nov. 16, 1911 at Watertown Township, Carver County, the son of Frank A. and Amanda R. (Krause) Luetke. He was baptized Dec. 17, 1911 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia, by the Rev. William F. Schneider, and confirmed April 5, 1925 in the same church, also by Rev. Schneider.
Allan married Florella S. Stelling June 7, 1936 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia, by the Rev. William F. Schneider.
He was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church Waconia Cemetery Committee, president of the PTL, and served as usher at church.
He lived on the homestead farm of the Luetke family and farmed his entire lifetime. He enjoyed working with the land, harvesting maple syrup, gardening, working with his fruit trees and grapes.
Allen enjoyed and appreciated his neighbors and his church members. He spent many hours fishing in both the winter and the summer. He was on the board of directors at the Watertown Coop years ago.
Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Florella; son, David Allen Luetke; daughters-in-law, Evelyn Luetke and Katherine Luetke; parents, Frank and Amanda Luetke; brother, Herbert Luetke; sisters, Edna Boehmke, Loyda Luetke, Cora Duchrow, and Gladys Lindgren.
Allen is survived by son, Daniel Luetke of Wayzata; daughter, MariLu Luetke Peters of Bloomington, Loring Peters of Brainerd; grandchildren, JungAh and Darren Peters Sombke of Belvidere, Ill., David and Elisa Peters of Bloomington; great-grandchildren, Benaiah Sombke, Krystal Sombke, Rosie Sombke; sisters and brother-in-law, Adele Pyatt of Marysville, Calif.; Lucille and the Rev. Dr. Martin Lieske of Minneapolis; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Merrill and Ruth Stelling of Apple Valley, Delbert and Lucille Stelling of Burnsville, Marian Stelling of Bemidji; Godchildren, Dr. Joel Lieske and Jerri Stelling Ulku; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, 2 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia, with the Rev. Peter Peitssch and the Rev. Dean E. Mahlum officiating.
Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Waconia.
Casketbearers were Dr. Joel Lieske, Dave Veith, Roger Raether, Merlin Hilk, Gary Rademacher, and Erwin Goethke. Bob Price and Alfred Biersdorf served as honorary casketbearers.
Arrangements were made by Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia.
