Gilbert W. Stahlke
Gilbert W. Stahlke, age 88 of Mound, died Thursday, March
1, 2001, at Presbyterian Homes, Spring Park.
Gilbert was born July 2, 1912, at Waconia, the son of William
and Alice (Vahl) Stahlke. He was baptized July 21, 1912, at Trinity Lutheran
Church, Waconia, by the Rev. William Schneider, and confirmed by the same
May 9, 1926.
On April 27, 1935, Gilbert married Lillian A. Krause at
Trinity Lutheran Church, by the Rev. Schneider.
Gilbert was very active in church functions, including
being an elder and an usher at his church.
He loved fishing, playing cards, bowling, and having coffee
with friends.
Gilbert also delivered Meals on Wheels for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lillian; parents,
William and Alice Stahlke; brothers, Waldomier (Pat) Stahlke, and Wilbur
Stahlke.
Gilbert is survived by his children and their spouses:
Dorothy and James Morton of Cushing, Betty Holm of Watertown, Douglas and
Molly Stahlke of Maple Grove, Nancy and Gary Landsman of Mound, and Gerald
Stahlke of Shakopee; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He is further survived by brothers and sisters-in-law,
Ralph and Lorna Stahlke of Waconia; Dwain and Ruth Stahlke of Waverly, and
Irene Stahlke of Waconia; brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, Carl Krause
of Waconia; Ralph and Dorothy Krause of Ocala, Fla., and Florence Krause
of Mound; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Sunday, March 4, 1:30 p.m. at Mt.
Olive Lutheran Church, Mound, with the Rev. Tom Evans officiating. Interment
was at Union Cemetery, Mound.
Casket bearers were Gilbert’s grandchildren: Brian Holm,
Joshua Landsman, Donald Morton, Brad Morton, James Morten, Scott Morton,
Eric Holm, Keith Holm, Katie Stahlke, Megan Landsman, Stacey Lynn, and Matthew
Landsman.
Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia.
