Stella Lena Templin
Stella Lena Templin, age 93, of Winsted, and formerly of Plato, entered her eternal rest Sunday, Dec. 23, at St. Mary's Care Center in Winsted.
Stella was born Feb. 8, 1908 in Helen Township, the daughter of Fred and Dorothea (Dora) Wuetherich. She was baptized March 1, 1908, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ by the Rev. Stilli and confirmed March 25, 1923 at the same church by the Rev. Zielinski.
Stella attended the Plato Public School system.
Stella was united in marriage to Fred "Fritz" H. Templin March 2, 1930 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ by the Rev. Eerich. The couple resided on her parents home farm one-half mile east of Plato.
Fred Templin entered his eternal rest in October of 1986.
Stella spent nearly all her life in the Plato and Glencoe area. She enjoyed gardening, visiting with friends and relatives, fishing, caring for her house pets, and playing cards with relatives and neighbors at birthday parties.
Stella also liked to attend church groups and was active in the Ladies Guild, as well as watching over her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Stella is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; infant son, Lester; two brothers, Harold and Frederick Wuetherich; two sisters, Elvina Fenske and Dorothy Kroells; daughter-in-law, Lavonne Templin; and brothers-in-law, Helmuth Fenske and Melvin Kroells.
She is survived by her three sons, Kennith (Lynette) Templin of Faribault, Wayne (Bernice) Templin of Brownton, and Arthur (Diane) Templin of Plato; seven grandchildren, Charles (Lisa) Templin of Gaylord, Pam (and friend, Steve) of Stewart, Jeffery Templin of Gaylord, Melvin (Amy) Templin of Gaylord, Randy (Nicole) Templin of Steward, Dean Templin of Silver Lake, and Tammie Templin of Plato; sister, Lydia (Marvin) Krushke of Lester Prairie; sister-in-law, Dorothy Wuetherich of Lester Prairie; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Grant Groves-Speece officiating.
The organist was Diane Anderson, and the congregation sang "Silent Night" and "How Great Thou Art." Bob Becker was soloist, and sang "Amazing Grace."
Casketbearers were Earl Templin, Bernie Bullert, Brian Wuetherich, Wilton Stuedemann, Edward Dammann, and Rick Williamson. The seven grandchildren were honorary bearers.
Visitation was Wednesday evening at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe. Interment was in the church cemetery.
