Dwight L. "Van" VanderHaarDwight L. "Van" VanderHaar, age 73 of Mesa, Ariz., and formerly of Howard Lake, passed away at his home Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001. Van was the owner and publisher of the Howard Lake Herald from 1952 to 1958. He was also an avid bowler while he lived in Howard Lake, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Van moved his family to Austin, Minn. in 1961, where he owned a successful commercial printing company. He left Austin in 1970, and settled in the Phoenix area, where he became a major figure in the Arizona printing community. Van made his home in the Phoenix area until his death. His passing is mourned by his beloved wife of 54 years, Joyce; and children: Bruce (53), Daryl (51), Susan (49), Mark (47) and Holly (34), all of whom live in the Phoenix area. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is interred in Greenacres Cemetery, Scottsdale, Ariz. |
