Carl Emil Wolfsteller
Carl Emil Wolfsteller, age 87, of Howard Lake, passed away
Aug. 15, 2001.
Carl was born Feb. 17, 1914, to Robert and Ida (Zander)
Wolfsteller at Albion Township, Annandale.
He was baptized April 19, 1914, and confirmed into the
Christian faith.
Carl was united in marriage to Alice Schmieg Oct. 20, 1938,
at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake. As a member of St. James Lutheran
Church, he served as a trustee, on both the stewardship board and cemetery
board.
He was also a member of the Lutheran Laymen’s League and
the Sunday morning Bible class.
Carl farmed in Albion township, moving to Howard Lake in
1959. He worked for the Farmer’s Creamery, AMPI and Sonstegard Foods, retiring
in 1992.
Carl enjoyed doing lawn work, gardening, and spending time
with children, especially neighbor Matt Gruenhagen.
Carl was called to his eternal rest at the age of 87 years,
five months, and 29 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ida
Wolfsteller; two sisters, Myrtle (Ed) Horstman of Howard Lake, Pearl (Vernon)
Uecker of Annandale; and one brother, Victor Wolfsteller of Howard Lake.
Carl is survived by his wife, Alice; two sisters, Fern
(Walter) Yager of Waverly and Ruby (Alfred) Kammerer of Annandale; nieces,
nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
Arrangements were by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home,
Howard Lake.
Funeral services take place Aug. 20, 2001, at St. James
Lutheran Church, Howard Lake with the Rev. Martin Schoenfeld officiating.
The organist will be Nancy Butterfass, with special music
by the St. James Ladies Choir. Interment will be at the St. James Cemetery.
Carl’s Godchildren, Ted Woyke, John Uecker, Marvin Wolfsteller,
Glen Yager, Barry Schmieg, Bruce Zeidler, and Carla Zeidler will serve as
pallbearers.
