Hubert Leo Dalbec
Hubert Leo Dalbec was called to his eternal rest Sept. 6, 2002, at the age of 85 years, five months, and 23 days.
Hubert was born March 14, 1917, at Waverly, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (nee Stumpf) Dalbec. He was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waverly, and confirmed in his faith at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Maple Lake.
He was united in marriage to Doris Uecker at Buffalo. This union was blessed with the births of eight children.
They made their home in the Howard Lake area and became members of St. James Lutheran Church. Hubert worked 29 years for Butler Manufacturing. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, baseball, and joking around with family and friends.
Hubert was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Elizabeth Dalbec, wife Doris, infant son Larry, two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his children, Douglas (Margaret) Dalbec, Margie (Jerry) Moxley, James (Sharon) Dalbec, LuAnn Tremblay, Nancy White, Debbie (Ron) Kassulker, and Vicki (Larry) Witschen, 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, three brothers, four sisters, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, with the Rev. Michael Nirva and the Rev. Martin Schoenfeld officiating.
The organist was Nancy Butterfass, with special music by soloist Aaron Kubasch.
Interment was at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery, Middleville Township.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Larry Dalbec, Matthew Dalbec, Ronnie Dalbec, Todd Moxley, Duane Dalbec, Joel Moxley, Michael Tremblay, Mark Steffens, Adam Tremblay, and Nick Witschen.
Arrangements were made by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake.
