Fritz Otto Dangers
Fritz Otto Dangers, age 85, of Howard Lake, was born June 5, 1917, the son of Fredrich and Emma (nee Schlee) Dangers on a farm south of Howard Lake.
He was baptized by The Rev. George Matthiae at St. John's Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, July 1, 1917, and confirmed in his faith at St. James Lutheran Church on April 9, 1933 by the Rev. C. G. Seltz.
Fritz was united in marriage to Dorothy Strei Feb. 20, 1944, by the Rev. Eugene Seltz at St. James Lutheran Church.
This union was blessed with the birth of four children. They made their home on a farm south of Howard Lake before retiring to their home on Howard Lake in 1967.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was active in the 4-H club with his children.
On July 4, 2002 while a resident at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Care Center, Fritz Dangers was called to his eternal rest at the age of 85 years and 29 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrich and Emma Dangers; wife, Dorothy; a stillborn son; two brothers, Leo and Leonard Dangers; two infant sisters, Viola and Dorothy Dangers; and son-in-law, Bill Spaniolo.
Fritz is survived by three children, LaMae Spaniolo of Lovettsville, Va., LouAnn Munson (Bob) of Howard Lake, and Rick Dangers (Carol) of Blaine; four grandchildren, Eric Munson (Margaret) of Cokato; Amy Yager (Dan) of Howard Lake, Crystal Reich (John) of Duluth, and Jennifer Dangers of Blaine.
He is further survived by two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Alexandra Munson; two brothers, Donald Dangers (Carolyn) of Howard Lake; Vernon Dangers (Evelyn) of Minneapolis; one sister, Marion Hewitt of Roseville; nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Joel Hewitt, John Hewitt, Michael Dangers, Donald Drusch, Steven Halverson, and David Bleth.
Funeral services were Monday, July 8, 2002, at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, with the Rev. Michael Nirva officiating. The organist was Diane Johnson, with special music by soloist Valerie Pettit.
Interment was at the Howard Lake Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake, Minnesota.
