Alice Falk, age 88, of Howard Lake and formerly Lester Prairie, died Saturday morning, Dec. 7, 2002, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
Alice was born June 11, 1914, in Winsted, to Herman and Paula (Nolan) Falk. She was baptized as an infant at St. John's Lutheran Church in Winsted.
She moved to Carver County in 1934, and when her step-father died in 1961, she entered the Alice Haney Home in Lester Prairie.
Alice enjoyed doing crafts, especially doing freehand cutting, making small and large Nativity scenes, as well as little felt birds, which were cut out and stuffed. She also liked gardening, caring for house plants, and fishing.
In 1986, she left the Alice Haney Home and kept her own apartment. In 1999, she and her cat, Pansy, entered the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Home.
She has no surviving family members and she is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Louise Falk.
Funeral services for Alice Falk were Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Paul McBride Funeral Chapel in Lester Prairie, with the Rev. Randall Tonn officiating.
The organist was Marie Eischens, and the congregation sang "Rock Of Ages" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus."
Interment was in the Winsted Public Cemetery.
