Dora Gabbert, age 101, was born July 24, 1901 as Theodora Della Olivia Oestreich in Hollywood Township, near New Germany.
She departed this life Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002 in Wayzata.
Dora was preceded in death by her loving husband Louis, sons Gordon and Donald, daughter-in-law Connie, two brothers, and two sisters.
She is survived by son Kenneth, daughters Delores (Tony) Lubowitz and Carol (Leon) Meyer, daughter-in-law Marlene, grandchildren Susan Jahr, Lucy (Steve) Myren, Chuck (Karla) Lubowitz, Linda Meyer, Laurie (Tom) Paquette, Julie (Russ) Thour, Jan (Vince) Redford; 14 great-grandchildren, brothers Romeo and Omer (Hilma) Oestreich, and many loving relatives and friends.
We were blessed with her full presence until she went home. Dora was the last surviving charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she also played the organ in the original church.
A funeral service took place Friday, Sept. 27 at noon, with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m., all at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Wayzata. Interment was at the Howard Lake Cemetery.
