Audrey Mae Gunderson
Audrey Mae Gunderson, age 74, of Howard Lake, passed away Feb. 18, 2002, at the Meeker County Memorial Hospital, Litchfield.
Audrey was born the eldest daughter of Albert and Olive Ganz. She attended school in Sauk Rapids.
She married Elroy Tuchtenhagen Oct. 12, 1943. To that union was born seven children.
Besides raising her family, she worked at the St. Mary's Nursing Home in Winsted. Later, she moved to St. Cloud and worked at a nursing home in Sauk Rapids and, then, at Towns Edge Cafe, St. Cloud.
She married Carroll Gunderson Sept. 30, 1977, and moved to New Brighton.
Audrey enjoyed gardening, baking and old-time music. Christmas was her favorite time for baking and making packages for all the families. She also enjoyed fishing and reading.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; one son, David; one brother, Bud; and husbands, Elroy and Carroll.
She is survived by Maryetta (David) Sale, Lannie (Carol) Tuchtenhagen, Ginny Remer, Joni (Robert) Hess, and Roxann Babatz, all of Howard Lake, and Cheryl Major of Buffalo; 18 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
She is further survived by sister, Lorraine Betzold of St. Cloud, step-brothers, Lyman and David; step-sisters, Margaret, Mary, and Kathy.
Funeral services were Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake, with the Rev. Martin Schoenfeld officiating.
Pall bearers were David Tuchtenhagen, Scott Sale, Travis Remer, Troy Hess, Sara Sale, and Ellie Tuchtenhagen.
Interment was at the Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake.
