Lawrence Alvin Hardy
Lawrence Alvin Hardy of Cokato, passed away at the Cokato Manor Oct. 12, 2002, at the age of 85 years, six months, and 11 days.
Lawrence was born April 1, 1917 in French Lake Township to Emil and Elma Hardy. He grew up in the French Lake and Annandale areas. He attended school in Annandale.
Lawrence married Myrtle Pettit Dec. 30, 1940. They had been married nearly 60 years before Myrtle passed away in August of 2000. The couple farmed and lived in the Cokato area for many years. Lawrence worked for a short time on the railroad in Iowa, as a carpenter, and was employed at Dura Supreme in the cabinet shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Myrtle, one brother, and four sisters.
He is survived by his children Ken (Linda) of Cokato, Tom of Billings, Mont., and Sue (Dave) Brook of Watertown, S.D.; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, six brothers, and five sisters.
Funeral services for Lawrence Hardy were Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Cokato, with the Rev. Dan Swanson officiating. Music was provided by Bonnie Johnson, Jean Paulson, and Dr. Scott Anderson.
Interment was at the Cokato city cemetery.
