Caroline A. Helmbrecht
Caroline A. Helmbrecht, age 92, of Winsted, died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at Glencoe Area Health Center.
She was born in Watkins Nov. 20, 1909, the daughter of John and Catherine Rausch Wolter.
Caroline was baptized at St. Nicholas Church in St. Nicholas, Stearns County.
Caroline and Louis Helmbrecht were joined in holy marriage Oct. 27, 1928, at the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis. God blessed their marriage with two children.
Following their marriage, Caroline farmed with her husband near Watkins for two years. The couple then moved near Howard Lake and farmed in Woodland Township, Wright County. Eventually Caroline and Louis would farm for many years west of Winsted.
Louis died in 1982, and Caroline moved into the city of Winsted five years later.
Caroline was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. She also was a member of St. Anne's Society and of the Holy Family Council #204.
She is survived by a daughter, Dolores (Kenneth) Kohler of Winsted; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Helmbrecht all of Winsted; grandchildren, Phyllis (Doug) Dukhorn, Renee (Dave) Neese, Paulette Kohler, Kevin (Nina) Kohler, Carolyn Kohler, Brenda (Ken) Sterling, Leon Helmbrecht, Loren (Kim) Helmbrecht, Joe (Susie) Helmbrecht, and Joann (Dale) Lachermeier;
a granddaughter-in-law, Joyce Helmbrecht; 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ervin (Lillian) Walters; and a sister, Christine Schreiner, all of Watkins; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Caroline was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Helmbrecht in 1991; a grandson, Keith Helmbrecht in 1998; a great-granddaughter, Jessica Helmbrecht in 1977; and by five brothers and three sisters.
A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial for Caroline Helmbrecht took place Sunday, July 7, at 4 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. The Rev. Paul L. Wolf and the Rev. Martin F. Rath, OSB, were the concelebrants.
The interment was at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home Sunday, July 7, from 1 to 3:45 p.m.
Kevin Kohler, Leon Helmbrecht, Loren Helmbrecht, Joe Helmbrecht, Dale Lachermeier, and Doug Dukhorn served as casket bearers.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
