John Earl Jennings

John Earl Jennings, age 67, of Edina.

Precious husband and father. Wise and witty teacher at Minneapolis Roosevelt high school for 30 years. Notorious storyteller, whimsical Irishman, loyal friend and brother.

John was an inspiring, inquisitive mathematician, cinemaphile, and lover of music, magic astronomy, and photography. A man of great character and courage who will be hugely missed.

In addition to his wife, Karen and daughter, Erin, his family includes sisters and brother-in-law, Maribeth Jennings and Marge and Dick Strot; dear mother-in-law, Ruth Gruenhagen, Howard Lake; "outlaws," Gordon and Helen Gruenhagen, Sam and Evy Gruenhagen, Ruthie and Jim Baird, Lorie Gruenhagen, Lois and Steve Carley; cherished nieces and nephews; many caring friends and neighbors.

A celebration of John's life was held Thursday, March 14, at 4:30 p.m. at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, W. 50th St. and Vernon Ave. at Hwy. 100, Edina.
