Peggy Lewandowski, age 97, of Howard Lake and formerly of Winsted and Silver Lake, passed away Feb. 18, 2002, at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Care Center.
Peggy was born Sept. 13, 1904, to John and Mary (Kasprzyk) Pawlicki in Hale Township, McLeod County. She spent her youth on the farm and attended District 27 country school.
Peggy was united in marriage to Peter Lewandowski Sept. 13, 1925, at St. Adalbert Church in Silver Lake. They were blessed with a daughter, Eleanor.
Peggy and Peter lived on the farm north of Silver Lake until they retired and moved to Silver Lake. She, then, lived at St. Mary's apartments in Winsted for a few years, and, then, at the Howard Lake Nursing Home.
Peggy enjoyed all kinds of hobbies. She loved to garden, bake, make rugs, crochet, sew, and do all sort of things outside. She was a life-long member of Holy Family Church, and a member of CCW and the Rosary Society.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Peter, brothers Joe and Tony Pawlicki, sister Emma Lewandowski, grandson Bob Fiecke, and great-grandson John Fiecke.
She is survived by her daughter, Eleanor Fiecke of Buffalo, four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services took place Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, 10:30 a.m., at the Church of the Holy Family, Silver Lake. The Rev. Robert Mraz officiated the service.
Sister Elizabeth Gruenes was organist for the service. Jeremy Bokusky, Joe Bokusky, Cory Fiecke, Gordon Pawlicki, Gerald Fiecke, and David Fiecke served as casketbearers.
Interment was conducted at St. Adalbert Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Arrangements were made by the Maresh Funeral Home, Silver Lake.
