Isabelle A. Lindenberg
Isabelle A. Lindenberg, age 83, of rural Howard Lake died Friday, May 3, 2002, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
She was born in Winsted June 27, 1918, the daughter of Alois "Al" and Louise Hemerick Remer.
Isabelle Remer was joined in holy marriage to Marvin Lindenberg Nov. 22, 1937, at the Rectory of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with six children, and they happily shared 63 years together.
Isabelle and Marvin farmed near Howard Lake until they retired in 1982. Marvin preceded his wife in death Oct. 23, 2001.
Isabelle was a member of the Church of St. Mary in Waverly. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, sewing, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Isabelle was preceded in death by a son, Linus "Butch" Lindenberg Aug. 2, 1956; her parents; two infant grandchildren, Nichole and Michelle; a son-in-law, Alvin "Sonny" Schroeder; brothers, Ronald Remer and Raymond Remer; and a sister, Marie Getz.
She is survived by her children, Janette (Gordon) Bratvold of Montrose, Delores (Gerald) Anderson of Maple Grove, Carol (Sonny) Jewett of Waverly, Diane (Leonard) Grangroth and Mary (Lyle) Hirsch, all of Howard Lake; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She is further survived by her sisters and brothers, Eleanor (Otto) Birkholtz of Waverly, Gertrude (Edward) Lyrek, Sr., of Montrose, Margaret Huhn of Litchfield, Walter Remer of Waverly, Rose Ann (John) Moore of Edina, Aggie (Ray) Yurek of Silver Lake, Eileen (Homer) Berum of Livingston, Mont., and Marcy (Leon) Wickenhauser of Cologne;
Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ed Lindenberg of Delano, William "Bud" Lindenberg and Gilbert "Gib" Lindenberg, both of Excelsior, Lucille Stender of Waconia, Marge Stender of Delano, and Marion Shrode of Lester Prairie; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Isabelle will be deeply missed by her family, many relatives, and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial for Isabelle Lindenberg was Tuesday, May 7, 10 a.m., at the Church of St. Mary in Waverly. The Rev. Robert Wiley was the celebrant, and interment followed at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home Monday, May 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. A prayer service was at 7:30 p.m.
Michelle Grangroth, April Grangroth, Angela Hirsch, Katie Hirsch, and Debra Schirmers served as honorary casket bearers.
Brian Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Keith Schirmers, Dale Schroeder, Andy Hirsch, Chad Hirsch, and Dean Schroeder served as casket bearers.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
