Anna M. Mielke
Anna M. Mielke, age 84, of Waconia, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at her apartment in Waconia.
Anna was born Sept. 30, 1917, at Camden Township Carver County, the daughter of Otto F. and Anna S. (Westermann) Quaas. She was baptized Oct. 21, 1917 and confirmed March 20, 1932 at Zion Lutheran Church Church in Mayer by the Rev. F. W. Erthal.
Anna married Leonard Henning June 14, 1939, at Zion Lutheran Church by the Rev. Elmer Schwandt. Leonard passed away in 1946. She was married to Elmer Mielke July 1, 1956, at Zion Lutheran Church by the Rev. M. F. Rische. Elmer passed away in 1980.
Anna loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed baking, needlework, and playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leonard Henning and Elmer Mielke; parents, Otto and Anna Quaas; sisters, Helen Ohm and Emma Jopp; brothers, Gilbert, Fred, Marion, and Otto Quaas.
Anna is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Geraldine Henning of Russelville, Ark.; daughter and son-in-law, Mavis and Willie Dummer of Gaylord.
She is further survived by her grandchildren, Pamela and Kent Schoer, Lori and Gary Steinhagen, the Rev. Timothy and Janet Henning, John and Tammy Henning, Douglas and Stephanie Henning; great-grandchildren Brittany and Brandon Schoer, David Steinhagen, Alexis and Krystal Henning;
Sister Florence Goede of New Germany; brothers and sister-in-law, Ben and Lila Quaas of Mayer, Wallace and Sylvia Quaas of Chaska, Bernice Quast of Watertown, Mildred Honebrink of Belle Plaine;
Brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Gerhard and Lorena Henning of New Germany, Leona Parpart of New Germany; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services for Anna were Friday, April 5, 11:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia, with the Rev. Peter Peitsch officiating. Interment was at St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery in New Germany.
Rev. Timothy Henning, John Henning, Douglas Henning, Mark Quaas, Kevin Quaas, and Keith Quaas served as casketbearers.
Arrangements were made by the Johnson Funeral Home of Waconia.
