A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of George Mochinske was 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, with Fr. Paul Wolf officiating. The organist was Lavon Kielkucki. The congregational hymns were "Prayer of St. Francis," "Amazing Grace," "On Eagles Wings," "Here I Am Lord," and "Let There be Peace on Earth."
Serving as casket bearers were Kevin Mahon, Steve Mahon, Paul Mahon, Mark Mahon, David Mochinski, Bob Mochinski, and Mike Mochinski. Interment was in the church cemetery.
George Paul was born on Feb. 16, 1910 in Winsted, the son of Waddick and Helen (Grzasewicz) Mochinske. He received the sacraments of baptism, first communion, and confirmation at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
George was united in marriage to Helen S. Mallak September 1, 1931, at the St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Silver Lake, and enjoyed 68 years of marriage. The couple made their home in Winsted.
George worked as a boiler engineer at Green Giant, the creameries in Lester Prairie and Winsted, and the Winsted Hospital. He has been a lifelong member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
George enjoyed gardening, fishing, and was a skilled engineer and handy-man. George entered his eternal rest Thursday, November 14, 2002, at the Mission Nursing Home in Plymouth at the age of 92 years, 8 months, and 28 days.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Helen, and daughter Florence Mahon; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Survivors include his son, Clarence; son-in-law, Mark Mahon; 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; l great-great grandchild; brother, Benny Mochinske and wife Elizabeth; sister-in-law Louise Haekenkamp; as well as other relatives and friends.
