Tom was born to Robert and Marilyn (Phillipp) Moser Sept. 25, 1963, in Paynesville. Tom graduated from Eden Valley High School in 1981. After high school, Tom attended Alamon Telco Vocational School in Columbia Falls, Mont., and studied to be a telephone technician.
After graduation from Alamon Vo-Tech, he moved back to Minnesota. Tom worked at Airtex in Cokato as a production supervisor from 1987 to 1997.
In 1997, Tom accepted a position with Ingredient Supply as the assistant plant manager. In 1999, Ingredient Supply was bought out by Michael's Foods, where Tom worked until the closing of the plant in June of 2002.
Tom and his best friend and former supervisor, Geoff Smith of Michael's Foods, signed on with Sonstegard Foods in Howard Lake. Geoff and Tom were in the middle of reconstructing the building after it had been damaged by a fire. They spent many hours and a lot of hard work to get their business, "Egg Specialties," up and going. They were very proud of the progress that was made.
Tom was a member of the National Rifle Association. He was a very active person who kept himself always busy. He had many hobbies, including motorcycling, jet skiing, working in the yard, hunting with Molly, playing cards, and socializing with friends, and especially going up north to Geoff Smith's hunting shack with Jeff Roth, Jim Morse, and Geoff.
Tom also loved going over to the neighbors home, Freita and Gary Rausch, to help on their farm. He knew he would always be awarded with all the "goodies" Freita had prepared for the day.
One of Tom's favorite things to do was to have a campfire at night, enjoy a few beers with friends, or just sit in the silence of the fire in tranquility. Tom had just completed his fish house this past spring and was so proud of it. He was looking forward to ice fishing with his family and friends this coming winter.
Tom always had many projects going on and a lot of great ideas on how he wanted the yard and home to look. He took great pride in the house that was moved out to the lake in 1998. He had worked very hard to make it the perfect home for his family.
Tom is survived by his best friend and significant other of 13 years Debbie VanNurden, his four children, Nicole Buck and special friend Darren Leland of Duluth, Jim Moser and special friend Toni Pickle of Darwin, Michael Buck, and Kayla Moser, both of Darwin.
He is further survived by his parents, Robert and Marilyn Moser of Eden Valley and Dave and Marge VanNurden of Litchfield, five sisters and two brothers, Ann Johannes (Deron Callis) of Memphis, Ind., Wanda Reiter (Daniel) of Eden Valley, Connie McCann of Richmond, Steven (Julie) Moser of Mattoon, Ill., and Michael Moser of Willmar, and Sue and husband Tim Weiss of Litchfield, Sandy and husband Dan Jost of Richmond.
Tom has many nieces, nephews, and god-children.
Tom is preceded in death by one brother, John Moser, his grandparents, Alex and Emily Phillipp, and Amond and Julia Moser.
