Gertrude E. Salonek
Gertrude E. Salonek, age 96, of Delano, died Monday, Nov.
25, 2002, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
She was born March 4, 1906, to Peter and Mary (Gabrelcik)
Michala in Franklin Township.
Gertrude was preceded in death by her husbands Anthony
Kuka and Frank Salonek, infant daughter Evelyn, son and daughter-in-law
Raymond and Ann Kuka, and parents Peter F. and Mary Michalla.
She was also preceded in death by an infant brother Stephen,
brothers and sisters-in-law Andrew and Irma Michalla, Edward and Delores
Michalla, Peter Michalla, and Anthony and Evelyn Michalla; infant sister
Adelaide, and sisters and brothers-in-law Frances and Matt Kuchenmeister
and Regina and John Arvin.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Geri and
Gene Mahon, four grandchildren: Cindy and Dan Girard, Mike and Sue Mahon,
Chris and Michael Secora, and Roger and Anna Kuka; eight grandchildren,
and three great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial took place Saturday, Nov. 30,
2002, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Delano, with Rev. Michael Miller
officiating.
Therese Borrell and the Resurrection Choir provided music
for the Mass.
Interment was in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by the Iten Funeral Home of Delano.
