Lillian M. Schroeder
Lillian M. Schroeder, age 89, of Watertown, died Sunday,
May 26, 2002, at Elim Home in Watertown.
She was born Aug. 8, 1912, at Mayer, the daughter of Emil
O. and Etta A. (nee Boehner) Goethke.
She was baptized Sept. 15, 1912, at Zion Lutheran Church,
Mayer by the Rev. F. W. Erthal, and confirmed May 16, 1926, at Zion Lutheran
Church, also by the Rev. Erthal.
She married Ervin O. Schroeder March 1, 1934 at Trinity
Lutheran Church Parsonage, Waconia, by the Rev. William Schneider.
Lillian was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
and great-great grandmother. She loved gardening, canning, traveling, and
working with her flowers.
Ervin and Lillian farmed all their married life until they
retired in November of 1974 and moved into the town of Watertown.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Ervin O. Schroeder;
son Dermis Schroeder; parents, Emil and Etta Goethke; sister Erna Pawelk;
and a brother in infancy.
She is survived by her children and spouses, Lorraine and
Orville “Sam” Otto of Wenatchee, Wash., David and Joan Schroeder
of Watertown, Janice and Ellerd Rosin of Blaine, Ronald and Diane Schroeder
of Watertown, Rodney and Gerry Schroeder of Watertown, daughter-in-law Donna
Schroeder of New Hope.
She is further survived by her grandchildren, Laurie and
Stephen Klontz, Eldon and Connie Otto, Amy Otto, Betty and Ted Watson, John
and Michelle Otto, Kurt and Michelle Schroeder, Kevin and Rakel Schroeder,
Scott Rosin, Pamela and Grant Breems, Todd and Amy Rosin, Jennifer and Brian
Rainerson, Steven and Gina Schroeder, Sarah Schroeder and fiance Chris,
Tony and Lisa Schroeder, Troy and Brenda Schroeder, Debbie and Nathan Buoy,
Tim Schroeder, ShanniRae and Clyde Roberts, Jennifer Schroeder and fiance
Rodger, Lindsey Schroeder and Randy Schroeder; 23 great-grandchildren; and
two great-great-grandchildren.
Lillian is also survived by her sisters, Violet Luebke
of Watertown, and Audrey Carlson of Mayer; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law
Adeline Pifer of California, Glenna and Jim Harris of Washington, Wilma
and Wayne Swigart of Kansas, Erna Schroeder of St. Cloud, Hulda Schroeder
of Mound, Irene Schroeder of Hutchinson, Myrtle Schroeder of New Germany,
Viola Schroeder of Waconia; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 29, at 2 p.m. at St.
Paul’s Lutheran Church, Watertown, with the Rev. Paul Krentz and the Rev.
Ronald Mathison officiating.
Casketbearers (grandsons) were John Otto, Kevin Schroeder,
Todd Rosin, Steven Schroeder, Troy Schroeder, and Randy Schroeder.
Interment was at Watertown Public Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by the Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia.
