Roger O. Vinkemeier
Funeral services for Roger O. Vinkemeier, 64, of Watertown were held on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia, with the Rev. Peter Peitsch officiating.
Mr. Vinkemeier died on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
Pallbearers were Larry Moehring, Dale Hilk, Dennis Vinkemeier, Todd Heldt, Nathan Heldt and Laurel Hilk. Interment was in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Watertown Township.
Mr. Vinkemeier was born on May 12, 1938, in Minneapolis to Reginald H. and Verda M. (Hilk) Vinkemeier. He was baptized on June 5, 1938, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Benton Township, by the Rev. Herman AmEnd and confirmed on March 29, 1953, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Watertown Township, by the Rev. John Spomer.
Mr. Vinkemeier graduated from Watertown High School.
On April 12, 1964, he was united in marriage to Marlys A. Rannow at the United Church of Christ in Biscay by the Rev. Bendit.
He served in the Army National Guard. He also farmed and did mechanic and welding work.
Survivors include his wife, Marlys; daughter, Christine Vinkemeier, of Watertown; parents, Rex and Verda Vinkemeier of Watertown; sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Alan Maas of Walker, Luann and John Peterson of Lakeville, Mary Ann and David Heldt of Watertown; brother and sister-in-law, Reggie and Liz Vinkemeier of Watertown; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Maynard Rannow of Glencoe, Doris Bren of Litchfield, Eileen and Glen Moehring of Biscay, Donna and Clarence Baumann of Glencoe; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents.
The Johnson Funeral Home of Waconia handled the arrangements.
