Betty Lou Lantto Voss
Betty Lou Lantto \/oss, age 75, of Brainerd, and formerly of Buffalo, died Friday, June 7, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 14, 1926, in Albion Township, Wright County, the daughter of Oscar and Ann Fiedler Smith.
Betty graduated from Howard Lake High School in 1944.
Betty Smith married Calvin H. Lantto at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Minneapolis May 15, 1948.
From 1965 until 1972, Betty and Calvin owned and operated Lantto's Resort on Middle Cullen Lake between Nisswa and Pequot Lakes. During the winter months, Betty worked at the Buffalo Cleaners. Calvin Lantto died June 14, 1987.
Betty was a former member of Albion Evangelical Free Church in rural Annandale and Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo. She also was the former longtime secretary/treasurer of the Wright County Association of Retarded Children (ARC).
Betty belonged to the Auxiliary of American Legion Post 627 in Nisswa, and formerly belonged to the Auxiliary of American Legion Post 270 in Buffalo.
Through the years, Betty was an avid Twins fan.
In addition to her husband Calvin, Betty was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Sharon Rose Monyok April 14, 1995, and by her parents, Oscar and Ann Smith.
Betty is survived by three children, Jeffrey (Marcia) Lantto of White Bear Lake, Susanne (Joseph) Monyok of Jordan, and Brian Lantto of Baxter; grandchildren, Anna Lantto and Andrew Lantto, both of White Bear Lake; Bethany (Andrew) Lasher of Robbinsdale, Josiah, Jeremiah, Melody, Jedediah, and Christiana Monyok; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Betty Lou Lantto Voss were Thursday, June 13, at 11 a.m. at Albion Evangelical Free Church in rural Annandale. The Rev. Dan Runke officiated, and interment followed at the Howard Lake Cemetery.
Friends called at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo Wednesday, June 12, from 4-8 p.m.
Casket bearers were Betty's grandchildren and Andrew Lasher.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.
