Mildred Brewster Williams
Mildred Brewster Williams, age 91, of Howard Lake, died
Saturday, June 8, at Waconia Hospital.
She was born Jan. 19, 1911 in Howard Lake, the daughter
of Clarence and Adeline (Stickle) Brewster.
She married Frank Williams in 1931 in Howard Lake. She
graduated from Howard Lake High School, attended Hamline University and
then graduated from the Minneapolis School of Business.
Mildred was baptized and raised as a life-long member of
Walker United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, played the
piano, and served in every capacity possible.
Mildred also volunteered regularly at the Good Samaritan
Care Center, leading the singing and playing everyone’s favorite songs.
She has been an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, receiving
her 50 year pin. For many of those years, she was the organist.
Mildred will be remembered for her hearty laugh, energetic
spirit, enjoyment of cards, skill in baking, joy of living, hugs, smiles,
and generosity.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Williams,
June 8, 1969; her infant son, Ray; her parents; her siblings, Charles, Mae,
Lester, Beth Overturf, and infant, Bennie.
She is survived by her children Don (Ellie) Williams, Gary
(Vivian) Williams, Mae (Jerry) Wannarka, and William (Kathy Jo) Williams;
grandchildren, Kathleen (Lou) Tedesco, Leigh Ann (George) Hanas, Colleen
(Marty) Sowa, Tom Williams, Margaret (Charlie) Cerimido, Amy (Robert) Fitton,
Denise Williams, Dan (Marsha) Williams, Christopher (Lisa), Sarah Wannarka,
Emily (Daniel) Gary, Jedediah Wannarka, Zachary Wannarka, Joshua Wannarka,
William Williams, and Robert Williams; and 14 great-grandchildren
Funeral services were Tuesday, June 11, 11 a.m., at Walker
United Methodist Church, Howard Lake, with the Rev. Deborah Clausen, the
Rev. Larry Hager, and the Rev. Marvin Rapinski officiating.
Casket bearers were grandsons, Dan Williams, Christopher
Williams, Daniel Gary, William Williams, Jedediah Wannarka, Robert Williams,
Zachary Wannarka, Terry Williams, Joshua Wannarka, Andrew Williams, and
Dustin Tuttle.
Patricia Corbin was the organist and Bonnie Seegmiller
directed the choir.
Interment was at the Howard Lake cemetery.
Arrangements were made by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral
Home, Howard Lake.

Mildred Brewster Williams, age 91, of Howard Lake, died
