Rosella M. Wolff
Rosella M. Wolff, age 94, of Buffalo, and formerly of Albion
Township, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002.
She was born May 23, 1908 in Middleville Township, the
daughter of Martin and Amelia Bundt Stueven.
Rosella was baptized June 28, 1908, at St. James Lutheran
Church in Howard Lake by the Rev. Robert Ernst. She was also instructed
in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith by Rev. Oetjen
May 28, 1922, at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake.
Rosella Stueven and Vernon Wolff were joined in holy marriage
Oct. 16, 1929, at her parent’s home in Middleville Township. Rev. C. Seltz
performed the wedding ceremony. God blessed their marriage with five children.
Rosella and Vernon farmed for many years in Middleville
and Albion Townships. Vernon G. Wolff preceded his wife in death Jan. 22,
1993.
Rosella was a faithful member of Bethlehem United Church
of Christ in Maple Lake and belonged to its women’s guild. She also formerly
served on the school board of District 125.
In addition to her husband, Rosella was preceded in death
by son Gerald Wolff, her parents, four brothers, and four sisters.
She is survived by her children Donna Wolff of Golden Valley,
Vernon (Connie) Wolff of Plymouth, John Wolff (Cathy Bussey-Wolff) of Maple
Lake, and Marlene (Albert) Lorentz of Howard Lake; 17 grandchildren and
26 great-grandchildren;
daughter-in-law Marlene Mohwinkel of Buffalo; three sisters:
Elvera Wolff of Golden Valley, Helen McRoberts of Howard Lake, and Amelia
“Millie” Dorma of Rockford; brother Adolph (Edna) Stueven of
Howard Lake; sister-in-law Leona Stueven of Annandale; nieces, nephews,
other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services for Rosella Wolff were Friday, Nov. 1,
at 1:30 p.m. at Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Maple Lake. Pastor
David Martens officiated, and interment followed at Albion Evangelical Cemetery,
UCC.
Marlene Wolff Mohwinkel was organist for the funeral service.
Cathy Bussey-Wolff was the vocalist and sang “The Lord’s Prayer.”
“Holy, Holy, Holy,” “Amazing Grace,” and “What
a Friend We Have in Jesus” were sung as congregational hymns.
Friends called Thursday, Oct. 31 at the Peterson Chapel,
Buffalo, from 4 to 9 p.m. A prayer service was at 8 p.m.
Casket bearers were Vernon Wolff, John D. Wolff, Craig
Wolff, John S. Wolff, Scott Wolff, and Steven Lorentz.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.

Rosella M. Wolff, age 94, of Buffalo, and formerly of Albion
