Susan Zich-Kulinski, age 45, of Morris Township, Stevens County, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2002, in Fargo, N.D.
Susan Dorothy Zich was born on Feb. 19, 1957, in Glencoe to Harvey and Dorothy (Matousek) Zich. She was baptized as an infant and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth, both at St. George Catholic Church in Glencoe.
She graduated from Glencoe High School in 1975. She grew up on the family farm, and following graduation, helped on the farm.
On Dec. 15, 1987, she was united in marriage to Gerald Kulinski in Watertown, S.D. They made their home in Winsted.
Mrs. Zich-Kulinski was employed by Green Giant in Glencoe, and at the Lamplighter in Hutchinson in the early 1990s. In 1999, she began a career in trucking with Can-Am Express in Fargo, making trips from Fargo to California. When she was not trucking, she helped on a farm near Morris, which is owned by Spence Howey and Dick Johnson.
Mrs. Zich-Kulinski enjoyed gardening, NASCAR racing, pets, hunting, fishing, motorcycling and the outdoors.
She was diagnosed with cancer on Dec. 19, 2001.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald Kulinski of Winsted; sister, Mary (Edward) Kosek of Silver Lake; brother, Wally (Donna) Zich of Glencoe; nieces, Joan Zich and Jolyne Zich; nephew, Mark Kosek; special friends, Butch Stephens of Morris and Susan Stenberg of Hutchinson; many other relatives and friends.
A memorial services for Susan Dorothy Zich-Kulinski was Saturday, June 22, at the Dobratz-Hantge South Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson, with the Rev. Gerhard Bode officiating.
Pianist was Paul Otte, and soloist Bobbi Cogley sang "On Eagle's Wings." Special music was "Abide With Me," "Just As I Am" and "Why Me."
Interment was in the Glencoe Catholic Cemetery.
