Norbert Raymond Albers
Norbert Raymond Albers, age 90, of Winsted, died Tuesday morning, May 6, 2003, at St. Mary's Care Center.
He was born August 31, 1912 in Glencoe, the son of Herman and Theresia Adams Albers.
Norbert R. Albers and Monica M. Kegler were joined in holy marriage October 4, 1939, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Glencoe. God blessed their marriage with three children.
Norbert and Monica Albers engaged in dairy farming for many years. Norbert also formerly hauled livestock.
He was later employed at Pure Milk in Winsted for more than 30 years.
Norbert enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, and belonged to Catholic Aid and to St. Joseph's Society.
He was preceded in death by a son: James M. Albers May 11, 1999; a grandson: Jacques Eric Albers Feb. 6, 1999; his parents Herman and Theresia Albers; two sisters and three brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife: Monica M. Albers; two daughters: Elizabeth "Betty" (Dennis) Rehmann and Jeanette Albers, all of Winsted; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brother Anthony (Muriel) Albers of Glencoe; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Benilda Greshowak of South St. Paul, Father Maynard C. Kegler, OMI, of Sun City West, Arizona, and Stanislaus "Stan" (Diane) Kegler of St. Paul; and many other relatives and friends.
Friends called Thursday, May 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted.
A prayer service took place at 7 p.m.
A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial for Norbert Albers was Friday, May 9, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Maynard C. Kegler, OMI, was the principal concelebrant for the Mass.
Interment was at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Norbert's grandsons: Jeff and Cory Albers, Scott, Mark, Steve, and Nick Rehmann.
Honorary casket bearers were his granddaughters: Lyn Fasching, Sue Keenan, and Karen Stifter.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
