John S. Ditmore
John S. Ditmore passed away Sept. 19, 2003, at Sauk Centre, reaching the age of 82 years.
John and his siblings were reared in Howard Lake, and after their father passed away, they were taken care of by a loving relative aunt Carrie Cochran.
He loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. He was a master mason and was active in the masonry.
After John reached eighth grade in the Howard Lake schools, his family moved to St. Paul where he graduated from Minnehaha Academy.
He married Dorothy Hanson in Sauk Centre, and they spent their lives there with their three children.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his parents W. O. Ditmore and Effie Stansbery Ditmore, sister Jane and brothers Conrad and Eobert Ditmore.
He is survived by children Jack Ditmore (Jane), Robert Ditmore (Linda), and Jane Hansen (Marc), six grandchildren, sister Margaret Barth, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Private internment took place Sept. 25, 2003 next to his wife at Greenwood Cemetery at Sauk Centre.
