Adeline Alma Drawert
While a resident at St. Mary's Care Center, Winsted, Adeline Alma Drawert was called to her eternal rest Nov. 28, 2003 at the age of 87 years, eight months, and six days.
Adeline was born March 22, 1916 at Howard Lake, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Mathilda (Zander) Bakeberg.
A life-long member of St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, she was baptized April 23, 1916 by the Rev. A.L. Oetjen and confirmed in her faith April 13, 1930 by the Rev. C.G. Seltz.
She was united in marriage to Elmer Drawert June 6, 1943 at St. James Church by the Rev. C.G. Seltz. This union was blessed with two children. They made their home and living on a farm south of Howard Lake.
Adeline also worked as a Stanley Home Products representative. She enjoyed crocheting, which included nine Lord's Supper crocheted pictures. Bowling and playing Scrabble were some of her favorite pasttime activities.
Adeline was preceded in death by her parents William and Mathilda Bakeberg, sisters Florence Mealey and Mabel Hess, and brothers Roy and Gilbert Bakeberg.
She is survived by her husband Elmer, daughters (Walt) Janet Johnson of Cannon Falls, Lona Lee (Lerton) Zander of Long Prairie, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 1, 2003 at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, with the Rev. Michael Nirva and the Rev. Martin Schoenfeld officiating.
The organist was Nancy Butterfass, with special music by the St. James Bell Choir.
Interment was at the St. James Cemetery on Dutch Lake.
Pallbearers were Ben Bergquist, Dwight Bergquist, Christopher Zander, David Baumgart, Dustin Endres, and Rick Otto. Honorary pallbearers were Brent Johnson, David Hoover, and Richard Otto.
Arrangements were made by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake.
