Monica T. Eggert
Monica T. Eggert, age 88, of Winsted, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at St. Mary's Care Center.
She was born Oct. 15, 1914, in Winsted Township, the daughter of Fred and Mary Brose Fasching.
Monica T. Fasching and Peter D. Eggert of Silver Lake were joined in holy marriage March 2, 1946, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in White Bear Lake. God blessed their marriage with four children.
Monica was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. She honorably served her country during WWII in the Womens' Army Corps.
She was also a former Winsted postmaster and Winsted city clerk. She was an avid golfer, bowler, quilter, and loved to travel.
Monica was preceded in death by her loving husband Peter D. Eggert in 1992, eight brothers, and two sisters.
She is survived by her children Mary (Gregory) Finstad of Minneapolis, Francis (Janet) Eggert of Winsted, Dolores Eggert of St. Paul, and Ann (Douglas) Segner of Excelsior; grandchildren Katherine and Carl Nelson, Elizabeth and Lauren Eggert, and Ann Finstad; and many other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Mass of Christian burial for Monica Eggert was Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant, and interment with military rites followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
A visitation took place at the church Tuesday morning, Feb. 4, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
The Chilson Funeral Chapel in Winsted served the family.
