Florence A. Guetzkow
Florence A. Guetzkow, 81, of New Germany died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003, at St. Mary's Care Center in Winsted, Minn.
She was born July 24, 1922 at Waconia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto W. and Ida O. (Brandenburg) Luebke. She was baptized Aug. 13, 1922 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia by the Rev. William Schneider.
Florence married Vernon D. Guetzkow May 15, 1943 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia by the Rev. William Schneider.
Florence was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and great grandma. She and Vernon farmed until 1991, when they moved to New Germany. She enjoyed sewing and playing cards.
Florence was preceded in death by grandson Josh Landin, parents Otto and Ida Luebke, brother Elmer Luebke, father-in-law and mother-in-law Fred and Selma Guetzkow.
Florence is survived by her husband Vernon, daughters and sons-in-law Janice and Robert Schafer of Shelby Township, Mich., and Karen and Dale Hamann of Hutchinson.
Florence is further survived by grandchildren Lisa and Joe Sherwood, Wendy Landin, great grandchildren Madison and Connor Sherwood, sister-in-law Gladys Luebke of Mayer, nieces and nephews Linda and Don Williams, Mark and Jean Luebke, great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, New Germany, with the Rev. Allen Holthus officiating.
Interment was at Crow River Cemetery, New Germany.
Casket bearers were Mark Luebke, Dean Adams, Lonnie Venske, Norville Luebke, David Effertz, and Dennis Havemeier.
Arrangements were made by Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
