Diane M. Hertzog

Diane M. Hertzog, age 46, of Winsted, died early Sunday morning, May 18, 2003, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

She was born Dec. 5, 1956, in Glencoe, the daughter of Albin W. and Valarie Hertzog.

Diane graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1975 and later received a dietary manager's degree from St. Paul Technical College.

She worked at St. Mary's Care Center in Winsted for 25 years and at Good Shepherd Home in Sauk Rapids the past two years.

Through the years, Diane was involved in Jaycees and St. Anne's Society. She also was a former Girl Scout leader and Winsted Welcomer.

Diane was a life member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, sang in its choir, and was a former CCD teacher. She belonged to American Legion Post 407 Auxiliary, and was a volunteer at Winstock every year.

She devoted her life to her daughter, Monica. Diane enjoyed walking and traveling.

Diane was preceded in death by her father Albin Hertzog in September of 1993 and by her aunt Grace Marie Kampa.

She is survived by her daughter Monica Hertzog of Winsted, her mother Valarie Hertzog of Winsted, two brothers: Jim (Julie) Hertzog of Watertown and Martin (Kathy) Hertzog of Waverly, and sister Rita (Eugene) Boehlke of Waverly, and nieces and nephews Laura, David, and Grace; Jenna, Stephanie, Michelle, and Sarah; and Brittani, Bridget, and Eugene, Jr.

She is further survived by an aunt, an uncle, a great-uncle, special friend Jerry Krohn, and other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Diane Hertzog was Wednesday, May 20, at 6:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant, and interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Friends called Tuesday, May 20, from 4 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A prayer service took place at 7 p.m.

Casket bearers were Dean Schermann, Elroy Boehlke, Robert Kutz, Dave Millerbernd, Eugene Boehlke, and James Artmann.

The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
