Dorothy Ann Janneke
Dorothy Ann Janneke, age 73, of Sun City West, Ariz., was suddenly and unexpectedly called to her heavenly home Tuesday, March 25, 2003.
Dorothy was born Dec. 14, 1929, in Howard Lake to Arthur and Caroline Hempel Smith.
After completing high school, she worked as a bookkeeper for Munson Feed Company until her marriage to Ronald Janneke Aug. 25, 1948. Their marriage was blessed with four children: Annette, Paula, Alan, and Andrew.
The family lived in Howard Lake, Grove City, Willmar, and Madison, Minn., moving to Sun City West, Ariz., more than 20 years ago.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Paula, who lived only a few days, and by her husband, Ronald, who went home to heaven Nov. 12, 2001.
She is survived by her daughter Annette (Mark) Jaeger of Gibbon, grandchildren Heidi (Miguel) Pozo, and great-grandchildren Isaiah and Kylie, Melissa (Troy) DeRosier, and Penny Jaeger; son Alan (Donna) and grandson Kory of Steeleville, Ill.; and son Andrew (Muriel) and grandchildren Scott and Ann of St. Paul.
She is further survived by sister Helen Zander of Howard Lake, and brothers Dale (Carol) Smith of Hutchinson and Everrett (Elaine) Smith of Howard Lake.
A memorial service took place at Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City West, Ariz., March 31, 2003, with internment at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City West.
